Frank Kauff

I'm a molecular phylogenticist and currently focussing on the evolution of cyanobacteria, but also collaborating in several projects involving fungi and lichens. Bionformatics of phylogenetics, for example in the Assembling the Fungal Tree of Life project (AFTOL) or in Biopython, are also important parts of my work. I completed my Diploma (1997) and my Ph.D. (2002) in Biology at the University of Kaiserslautern (Germany), and continued my research with Francois Lutzoni at Duke University until 2006. Since then, I joined the Department of Biology at the University of Kaiserslautern.
