Dustin Sandberg

Dustin was an undergraduate in the Arnold lab for two years, joining the group after meeting Dr. Arnold in her Microbial Diversity class. He participated in several projects assessing the biodiversity, genetic diversity, and functional diversity of fungal endophytes, and conducted independent research on an interesting group of endophytes associated with conifers. In Fall 2011 he joined the MS program in Plant Pathology and Microbiology at the UA, through which he studies endophytes of aquatic plants. In part because of his DoB research, Dustin was named a Pierson Fellow for the 2011-2012 school year and has received a scholarship to support his research. His undergraduate research was recognized with an award in the 2011 Ecology and Evolutionary Biology poster session at the University of Arizona.
