Julien Ponchart

I completed my Master's degree in Plant Biology at the University of Picardy in 2009. During this time I participated in an 8 month internship (supervised by Dr. Ian Toth at the Scottish Crop Research Institute) on Pectobacterium atrosepticum, which allowed me to develop research interests in plant-microbe interactions. Since 2010 I have been a Ph.D. student at Laval University, working on the endomycobiome of Abies balsamea to determine the fungi involved in this non-pathogenic interaction and their pattern of distribution within trees. To extend my knowledge on fungal community analysis and get a more global view of the fungal endophyte world, I am presently visiting the Arnold lab at the University of Arizona.
