Welcome, Naupaka Zimmerman - new postdoctoral fellow!
Members of the Arnold lab at the University of Arizona, and our entire DOB team, are delighted to welcome Dr. Naupaka Zimmerman to the University of Arizona endophyte group in starting in November 2013. Originally from the Island of Hawai'i, Naupaka completed his doctoral studies earlier this year with Dr. Peter Vitousek at Stanford. Already recognized for his work on endophyte diversity along environmental gradients and plant-pathogen-endophyte interactions, Naupaka has a rich background in ecology, ecosystem biology, plant-fungal interactions, molecular ecology, plant pathology, and computational biology. In the Arnold lab he will explore the effects of environmental factors on the life history traits of foliar fungi with support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, administered through the Life Sciences Research Foundation. Welcome Naupaka!
