Jakob Riddle

Jakob was a Plant Sciences major at the UA who graduated in December 2011. He joined the lab as a volunteer, research assistant, and later, independent-study student. In addition to working closely with Ochana Otto and Brittany Peña, Jakob studied the phylogenetic diversity of endohyphal bacteria associated with endophytes of conifers and angiosperms. He participated in fieldwork in Alaska and presented his work at the 2011 conference of the Mycological Society of America, where he won one of two Best Student Poster awards. He is now a Ph.D. student at the University of Minnesota.
